Good for something else

Honestly, if you want to know about diesels, there are better books. BUT, this book has the best detailed explanation of high pressure fuel injection pumps ever! Ever! There's a guy on the net that does a video of the Bosch pumps and his material supplements this book (get them both). This is the definitive book for injection pumps that you shouldn't live without.

Excellent intro to diesel workbook

Very informative. Great for beginners. Reading this brings me back to my schooldays of workbook assignments. Nothing wrong with that. I'm actually learning the fundamentals of how diesels work after tinkering with them on a superficial level for the past two years.

Needed this book for my class but didn't want to have to pay full price (over $100) for it. Found a used one on amazon for much less. The book got here quickly and was in good shape. Had some highlighting and notes in the margins but no major damage.
